Minimum Essential Coverage Plans (MEC)
Minimum Essential Coverage – MEC
The basic Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) Plan is a self-funded plan that provides 100% preventive coverage in-network as outlined by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This MEC plan satisfies the individual mandate, eliminates the employer 4980 H(a) penalty, and provides an affordable option to obtain preventive coverage.
Minimum Essential Coverage Plus – MEC Plus
The MEC Plus plans consist of the self-funded, 100% Preventive Care coverage as well as a fully-insured Limited Medical Benefit Plan. The MEC Plus Plan offers a little more coverage than the basic MEC option satisfying the individual mandate and giving the employees first dollar benefits for pharmacy and routine expenses.
Minimum Essential Coverage Advantage Plan – MEC Advantage
The MEC Advantage plan is a more comprehensive plan offering the self-funded, 100% Preventive Care coverage as well as a robust fully-insured Limited Medical Benefit Plan for things like Hospitalization, Out-Patient Surgery, Anesthesia, Diagnostic Lab Services, Embedded Life and AD&D Insurance, and more.
